Microsoft Windows operating system version & service pack level
- Click the "Start" button, then choose "Control Panel".
- In the Control Panel view, you may see links or tabs for
"Performance and Maintenance" or "System" or "Maintenance". Click any
of these. Your goal is to find the "System" icon.
- Click the "System" icon.
- The "System" window opens. You may see tabs at the top. If you see
a "General" tab, choose it; it may already be chosen, which is fine.
- The "General" tab shows the operating system version. If you have
any service packs, the tab also shows the service pack level.
